Odlotowa5 – BZG runway run

Odlotowa5 – the first runway run at Bydgoszcz Airport is just behind us!

On Sunday (03.04), nearly 1000 runners lined up at the start line of the Odlotowa5 run and set off on a five-kilometre journey along the runway of Bydgoszcz Airport. The first historic run at Bydgoszcz Airport was an ideal opportunity to break life records and see the regional airport “from behind the scenes”.

The fastest runner to cross the finish line was Cosmas Mutuku from Kenya, who did it in 15 minutes and one second. Just behind him, with the time of 15:06 Adrian Przybyła crossed the finish line, the third was Kamil Szymaniak, who ran the 5km in 15 minutes and 12 seconds.

The ladies kept up with the men – the first woman at the finish line was Olga Ochal of Ukrainian nationality with the time of 17:20, the second was Julia Koralewska with the time of 17:51, and Agata Pskit stood on the lowest step of the podium

However, every runner who “landed” at the finish line within 60 minutes had a chance to become a winner. Three special prizes were prepared by LOT Polish Airlines. Vouchers for sky journey, in amount of 2000 zł, 1000 zł and 500 zł were drawn among all participants of “Odlotowa5” and handed to the winners by the Vice Marshall of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship – Zbigniew Ostrowski and the CEO of the Bydgoszcz Airport – Tomasz Moraczewski.

It was the first that kind of event in the region and one of only few in Europe, which was “odLOTowa” thanks to the wonderful runners and organizers: Akademia Mistrzów Sportu and other partners like Budstol Invest, Marshall Office of Kujawsko-Pomorskie, LOT Polish Airlines and many more.
