Flights to Kiev

The double-digit increase in the number of passengers and the new flights to Kiev (by LOT Polish Airlines) will allow the crossing of 400,000 passengers in Bydgoszcz airport in 2018. The airport is preparing for the growing interest of travelers by implementing and planning new investments and modernizations. They will increase passenger comfort, but also improve the accessibility of the Airport for the inhabitants of the region.

A new connection of LOT Polish Airlines to Kiev

The information on the growing number of passengers is what we have been waiting for for a long time as the main shareholder of the port. Taking into account the new Eastern connection being launched, which should be very popular, I am convinced that this trend will continue. – emphasizes Piotr Całbecki, Marshall of Kujawsko-Pomorskie region.

From August 2, 2018, passengers will be able to take advantage of the new direct LOT Polish Airlines connection from Bydgoszcz to Kiev. This is second connection of this carrier to Ukraine, after launched in August 2017 flights to Lviv.

The new direction is excellent news for the residents of our region, but also for those coming to Ukraine for numerous business, tourist, educational or migration destinations. It must be remembered that many companies from Kujawsko-Pomorskie are conducting their interests in Ukraine and their representatives regularly visit Kiev for business purposes. Now they will be able to get there directly from Bydgoszcz in less than 2 hours. – says Tomasz Moraczewski, President of Bydgoszcz Airport.

The new route will be available every Monday and Friday. Passengers to Kiev will travel on Embraer 170 and 175 aircraft taking 70 and 82 passengers on board. The start from Kiev will take place at 23:40 and landing in Bydgoszcz at 00:40. The departure time from Bydgoszcz is 5.10 and arrival to Kiev is 08:00 (including the time difference). The flight time – about 1 h 50 min – is an excellent alternative to traveling by car, train or bus. In addition, it avoids queuing at the Polish-Ukrainian land border crossing.

Tickets available on the lot.com carrier website and travel agencies from PLN 299 on both sides.

Stable growth and the best quarter in the history of the airport

In addition to new connections, Bydgoszcz Airport has been recording stable, double-digit increases in passenger numbers for several months. This confirms the growing interest of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie residents in the offer of the airport. The first quarter of 2018 was the best quarter in the history of the airport in terms of the number of passengers checked-in. During this period, 75 303 people took advantage of the Port, and the quarterly increase, as compared to last year, amounted to as much as 25%. Taking into account optimistic forecasts for the following months, in 2018 the forecasted number of passengers may exceed 400,000.

Currently, passengers of Bydgoszcz Airport can use daily connections to London Stansted and Frankfurt, flights to London Luton offered 4 times a week, Birmingham 3 times a week, twice a week flights: to Glasgow, Dublin, Dusseldorf – Weeze and Lviv .
