Now we fly to Rome!

Today at 15.10 from Bydgoszcz Airport departured  first plane to Rome. On this occasion, Airport prepared for passengers many Italian surprises. The connection carried by the Italian airline Mistral Air is the first destination of this line not only in Bydgoszcz Airport, but also in Poland.

Flights from Rome-Bydgoszcz-Rome will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays. The journey will last about 2.5 hours, and passengers will travel by Boeing 737-300 with 148 seats on board. The plane from Rome Fiumicino will depart at 11.55. Landing in Bydgoszcz is scheduled for 14:25. The return journey will start at 15:10 and land at the airport Rome-Fiumicino at 17:35.

On the occasion of the inaugural flight on the route Bydgoszcz – Rome Airport prepared for assengers and guests many surprises. The terminal was guarded by Roman legionaries, with which one could make a commemorative photo. There were also traditional inaugural cake and Italian treats. The whole was completed with a mini concert of popular Italian hits. All passengers and visitors also submitted their signatures on a special plaque.

On the first plane from Rome to Bydgoszcz came authorities of  Mistral Air and invited journalists who for the next 4 days will be exploring the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. Guests will be visiting the most important attractions of Bydgoszcz and Torun, to be able to encourage readers to travel to Bydgoszcz.

This is the first regular connection to Italy in the 100 year history of Bydgoszcz airport. We hope that it will be used, not only by tourists and pilgrims going to Rome but also Italian tourists, who will use a direct connection to visit Kujawsko-Pomorskie. This is the second after Frankfurt  connection to such an attractive place. We would like to see Rome permanently in Bydgoszcz Airport flights network. I am convinced that the new route will be attractive to business and pilgrims. We also count on arriving Italian tourists – highlights Marshal Zbigniew Ostrowski from Marshalls Office of Kujawsko-Pomorskie.

Mistral Air operates charter routes, regular transport and cargo. The company is present on the market for over 40 years. Since 2002 it is part of the Poste Italiana. In 2013, Mistral Air has handled more than 10,000 flights carrying more than 600,000 passengers. It is one of the most important medium-haul operators, and is the only Italian cargo carrier with a fully Italian capital using jet aircraft.

Kujawsko-Pomorskie is now directly connected with Italy. Rome, the eternal city is heaven for tourists, offers a rich history, culture and famous Italian cuisine. Just 30 minutes from the center of Rome are located beautiful beaches and lakes.
