From 04.27.2017, passengers will again be able to fly from Bydgoszcz Airport toRome. Direct flights to Rome Fiumicino will be operated twice a week: on Mondays and Thursdays. Route will be served by Italian airline- Mistral Air and the time of flight is only 2.5 hours.

Lufthansa announced an increase in the number of connections on the route Frankfurt - Bydgoszcz to 6 per week. From March 30. 2017 passengers will have access to additional flights on Thursday
In the summer 2017 flights schedule Lufthansa will offer additional flight from Frankfurt to Bydgoszcz Airport increasing the number of rotations from this city to 6 per week. Hours of operation will also change. The plane Bombardier CRJ-900 will depart from Frankfurt at 12:30. Landing in Bydgoszcz is scheduled for 14:05. Flight to Frankfurt will depart at 14:45. The aircraft will reach destination at 16:15. The new flight hours will allow more efficient use of transfer possibilities at airport in Frankfurt. "We are proud to further strengthen our position in Bydgoszcz Airport. In the first ten months of 2016 years we recorded a 50% increase in the number of passengers on this route. Lufthansa continues to increase its share among traditional carriers in the regions, which currently stands at 63% (the period from May to October 2016). This means that our services are highly appreciated by passengers also from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie. Poland is an important market for Lufthansa and one of the few European countries in which the offering is constantly increasing"- said Frank Wagner, Country Manager Lufthansa Group Poland. New operational day is a response to the growing needs of business and tourist in region. Frankfurt is one of the biggest European airports, situated in Germany’s second-largest metropolitan region, making it one of the biggest and most important economic regions in Europe. Among many facilities, customers can benefit from 15 Lufthansa lounges – namely the exclusive First Class Terminal, two First Class Lounges, four Senator and seven Business Lounges as well as a Welcome Lounge for arriving passengers. Together, they have a total area of more than 20,000 square metres. Guests can work in peace in detached offices, while free Wi-Fi is available throughout the entire lounge. Lufthansa also provides lounge guests with refreshments consisting of a range of drinks and meals, which change on a weekly basis and vary according to the time of day.
In winter 2016/2017 Lufthansa has decided to mantain 5 flights to Frankfurt per week. Passenger can already book tickets on www.lufhansa.com. and choose flights on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Jubilee Ryanair's passenger in Bydgoszcz Airport was Szafrańska Hanna, who flew to Birmingham with her husband. Passenger received from the Irish carrier voucher for a return flight in the selected direction, commemorative boarding pass and a set of gifts.
Ryanair is present in Bydgoszcz 11 years. The first flight took place on 30 October 2005. Boeing 737-8AS took first passengers from Bydgoszcz to London Stansted. Flights to the UK capital are still the most popular in Bydgoszcz Airport. Annually on this route more travels than 100,000 passengers. Due to the increasing popularity of the destination carrier has repeatedly increased the number of flights available per week. From this winter season Rynanair increases the frequency of flights to London Stansted to 6 per week with additional flight on every Thursday, starting November 3.
Since the beginning of the year to the end of September 2016 Ryanair has served more than 223 600 passengers on routes from Bydgoszcz. Currently Ryanair offers connections from Bydgoszcz to London Stansted, Dublin, Birmingham, Glasgow and Dusseldorf Weeze. The last two destinations will be suspended in the winter season, but will return to summer schedule on March 27, 2017.
Expanded by more than 1,000 m2 departure hall in Bydgoszcz Airport is now open. Passengers will await for their flight in a modern and well-equipped departure hall. New area can offer restaurant with panoramic view on aprons, duty-free shop, VIP lounge and special playground for the youngest passengers. Expansion of the terminal was part of long-term investment plan, which significantly increased the safety of air operations and raised the comfort of passengers.
The new surface of the terminal has been designed and equipped according to latest trends in airport planning. It also included suggestions of passengers for each functionality. New surfaces, as well as the airport, are suitable for disabled passengers. New area is connected with old part with escalators and elevator. The terminal uses ecological and energy-efficient LED lighting and a modern air conditioning system. We significantly increased the number of seats. Besides the store or restaurant we also developed a new VIP lounge, which is dedicated to business passengers.
Reconstruction of the terminal had began in November 2015 and was divided into two stages. The opened part of the terminal today is the end of the second phase of project in which were utilized nearly 750m2. In the first stage, it created an additional 250 m2 of departure hall through the expansion of the terminal building towards the apron. The general contractor for both phases was the company LECH.
Today at 15.10 from Bydgoszcz Airport departured first plane to Rome. On this occasion, Airport prepared for passengers many Italian surprises. The connection carried by the Italian airline Mistral Air is the first destination of this line not only in Bydgoszcz Airport, but also in Poland. Flights from Rome-Bydgoszcz-Rome will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays. The journey will last about 2.5 hours, and passengers will travel by Boeing 737-300 with 148 seats on board. The plane from Rome Fiumicino will depart at 11.55. Landing in Bydgoszcz is scheduled for 14:25. The return journey will start at 15:10 and land at the airport Rome-Fiumicino at 17:35. On the occasion of the inaugural flight on the route Bydgoszcz - Rome Airport prepared for assengers and guests many surprises. The terminal was guarded by Roman legionaries, with which one could make a commemorative photo. There were also traditional inaugural cake and Italian treats. The whole was completed with a mini concert of popular Italian hits. All passengers and visitors also submitted their signatures on a special plaque. On the first plane from Rome to Bydgoszcz came authorities of Mistral Air and invited journalists who for the next 4 days will be exploring the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. Guests will be visiting the most important attractions of Bydgoszcz and Torun, to be able to encourage readers to travel to Bydgoszcz. This is the first regular connection to Italy in the 100 year history of Bydgoszcz airport. We hope that it will be used, not only by tourists and pilgrims going to Rome but also Italian tourists, who will use a direct connection to visit Kujawsko-Pomorskie. Increased number of weekly flights from Kuyavian-Pomeranian area starting in summer 2016 Lufthansa will add an additional frequency to its flight schedule between Frankfurt and Bydgoszcz as of the upcoming summer schedule 2016. This new frequency will increase the number of weekly connections between Bydgoszcz and Frankfurt to a total of five weekly flights. The modern and efficient Bombardier CRJ900 with 90 seats in Business and Economy Class configuration will take off from Frankfurt on Tuesdays at 10.40 CET and land in Bydgoszcz round 12.10 CET. The return flight will take off from Bydgoszcz at 13.40 CET and arrive in Frankfurt round 15.10 CET.
